Each stand must be tagged with metal tag in a visible area on the stand. A 6"x6" or larger sign with name and member number clearly visible and attached to stand.
New Rule 7/1/2010
All deer stands must contain the year of membership either on the 6"X6" sign or painted on the stand in at least 3" letters. The yearly membership date is to be changed each year by March 7th with the new hunting season year
A stand must be a huntable structure (ie, ladder, tripod or box stand in usable condition)
The recommended distance between stands is 300 yards for woods and 500 yards for pipelines.
Climbing stands, ladder stands or other portable stands are allowed near your tagged stand. These stands must not infringe upon the recommened 300 yard rule of another member. These stands must also contain your name and member number.
No one may hunt another member's stand without their permission
Claiming a stand site, a huntable structure must be placed on the site along with metal tag and stand sign, a sign with your tag placed on it is not sufficient to claim a new spot. If you have moved your stand from another are remove any signs from the old area that way another may claim your old site.
No stands within 50 feet of a back slope of a maintained road these roads can not be used as shooting lanes safety issue.
If your stand is down a side road you must leave access for vehicle traffic to pass.
No stands within 500 yards of a camp on a pipeline or 400 yards on a woods stand safety issue.
No stands with 50 yards of a public road or lease boundry.
Any stands/feeders on airstrip must be placed at woods edge to prevent interference with planes landing and taking off
T POST due to the number of logging equipment damage RMS has asked hunting clubs to reduce and if possible eliminate the use of T POST used to anchor stands or feeders and remove any not being used
If a Stand Dispute arises it is recommended that the members involved in the dispute try to resolve the issue first.
Stand Signs
A 24"X12" painted sign with either a white backgroung with dark lettering or a dark background with white lettering is required to mark a stand area. Also include the year and change it with each renewal to the upcomming hunting season.
Each sign should contain your name, accurate distance to stand and member number.
it is recommended that at least two signs mark each stand sight each in seperate locations. This helps eliminate members placing stands too close to your stand.
