HOG

With the growing hog population thru out East Texas every effort must be made to controll the explosive growth of hogs. To help controll the hog population dogs are used to catch hogs after the close of regular gun season.

 The latest research released in 2010 one hog can consumer 160 pounds of acorns in the fall and winter of the year this removes  food sources for deer, squirels and other animals and has lead to decline in the squirrel population. Hogs are also resposible for destroying turkey nest and fawn preditation.

1. Hogs can be hunted year round with no limit.  You may use dogs for hog hunting-except beginning September 1, 2012 and  again after January 6, 2013. The exception being the late youth weekend no dog hunting allowed on this weekend.

2. Dogs must have collars and tags.

3. Traps must be placed within your tagged hunting area and must not infringe on other members hunting territory.

4. Members can have up to 3 guests at one time while hog hunting except the exclusion dates from September 1 to the end of regular deer season and late youth season weekend. Hog hunting guest do not count againist you guest passes as deer season is closed when hog hunting.

5. Hog hunting is allowed only inside boundry of MHC if the pursuit of hog crosses the MHC boundry all chase activities must stop we are only allowed dog retrieval rights outside of club boundary and return to MHC boundry asap.

6. Do not release hogs back into the club remove them we have enough already.

SQUIRREL

1. Dogs are permitted for squirrel hunting after close of the regular deer season.  You may bring up to 2 guests at one time. Squirell hunting guest count againist you 4 guest passes issued each year.

2. No member shall kill over ten (10) squirrels in any one day or thirsty (30) in any seven (7) consecutive days. No more than thirsty (30) squirrels shall be allowed to any one membership in seven (7) consecutive days.
