4,596 acre lease consist of gentle rolling hills, large flowing creeks, hardwood bottoms and various aged pine timber, this forest management practice provided by RMS creates a high quality deer habit. Several pipelines cross the club and offer ample opportunities for food plots.
The goal of QDM at Moscow Hunting Club is to manage the deer herd below the carrying capacity while creating a balanced sex ratio and developing the age structure of the deer population. To achive this goal restrictions have been placed on buck harvest to recurit animals into older age classes.Does will be harvested in sufficent numbers to even the sex ratio level with the available habitat. This will allow for a greater proportion of older bucks in the herd.
Larger antlers are simply a by-product of having a more mature herd.On most hunting leases yearling bucks are what fill the hunter quotas, taken in thier youth bucks never have the chance to express full potential.
The tranquillity and gradeur of the East Texas Pineywoods is a great outdoor experience. The club encourages youth to become involved in not only hunting but game management and enjoyment of the outdoors.
